IMPORTANT
•Applications must be returned to the Minnesota Section PGA and postmarked by Friday, March 12, 2010. (12800 Bunker Prairie Road, Coon Rapids, Minnesota 55448)
•Applicants must have a cumulative 3.0 grade point average and apply on the Minnesota Section PGA Foundation Junior Golf Scholarship Application Form.
•Applicants need to be a 2009 and/or 2010 member of the Minnesota Section PGA Junior Golf Association OR participate in a junior golf program where a Minnesota Section PGA Professional is employed.

•Along with each application, the applicant must submit a copy of his/her current transcript with current grades, ACT/SAT test scores, class rank, and cumulative G.P.A.
AN INCOMPLETE APPLICATION SUBMITTED BY THE APPLICANT WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE MINNESOTA SECTION PGA FOUNDATION JUNIOR GOLF SCHOLARSHIP
I. PURPOSE
The purpose of the Minnesota Section PGA Foundation Junior Golf Scholarship is to encourage and promote the attainment of higher educational goals
for junior golfers who have demonstrated a high level of academic achievement and extra-curricular activities during his/her high school career.
II. ELIGIBILTY
Applicants for the 2010 Minnesota Section PGA Foundation Junior Golf Scholarship need to be a 2009 and/or 2010 member of the Minnesota Section PGA Junior
Golf Association OR participate in a junior golf program where a Minnesota Section PGA Professional is employed. The applicant also must be a
senior in high school for the 2009-2010 school year.
Applicants must have completed (or plan to complete) high school prior to September 1st, 2010 and must be planning to enroll as a full time
student. A full time student is defined as one who is taking 12 or more hours in a course of study leading to a traditional associate (2 year)
or baccalaureate (4 year) degree at an accredited college or university located within the United States or considered a full-time student by
his/her respective institution.
The Minnesota Section PGA Foundation Board will review class ranking, grade point average (GPA) and either ACT or SAT test scores, along with
the student's extracurricular activities. The student should be enrolled in a college-bound curriculum. Distinguished honors should be noted.
The applicant's cumulative grade point average (GPA) MUST BE at least 3.0 on a 4.0 graduating scale or the student WILL NOT be considered
eligible for the scholarship program.
III. SCHOLARSHIP(S)
The Minnesota Section PGA Foundation Junior Golf Scholarship program is designed to award scholarships. The amount of the scholarship(s)
is/are determined by the availability of funds. Special scholarships may be awarded based on the availability of funds and at the
discretion of the Minnesota Section PGA Foundation Board.
The number of scholarships to be awarded may vary from year to year based on IRS guidelines concerning private scholarship foundations.
IV. SELECTION OF WINNERS
Scholarship recipients will be selected on the following criteria basis by using a combination of criteria:
1. High School Grades
2. Class Rank
3. ACT/SAT Scores
4. Extracurricular Activities
5. One-Page Essay
Extracurricular activities will help the Minnesota Section PGA Foundation Board further evaluate the candidate's interests and abilities. Contributions to the community may be demonstrated by involvement in local clubs and organizations/associations. Extracurricular activities should be documented by type and years involved. The Minnesota Section PGA Foundation Board will consider the number and variety of activities.
- INFORMATION, POLICIES AND PROCEDURES -
The Minnesota Section PGA Foundation Junior Golf Scholarship was established in 1996, it is a non-profit entity established by the Minnesota Section of the PGA of America to meet the Association's mission of serving the needs of its members. The funds designated for scholarships are managed by the Minnesota Section PGA Foundation Board of Directors. The Minnesota Section PGA Foundation Junior Golf Scholarship is currently supported by private contributions and fund-raising activities.
The Minnesota Section PGA Foundation Board is mandated not to discriminate according to federal and state statutes. The final selection process will be made by the Minnesota Section PGA Foundation Board. No announcements will be made before the applicants receive notification from the Minnesota Section PGA. If additional funds become available, the Board may grant additional scholarships to worthy applicants.
