Drive, Chip & Putt

A joint initiative founded in 2013 by the Masters Tournament, United States Golf Association and The PGA of America, Drive, Chip and Putt is a free nationwide junior golf development competition aimed at growing the game by focusing on the three fundamental skills employed in golf for boys and girls ages 7-15.

The Minnesota PGA Section is host to fifteen local qualifying events, three sub-regional qualifying events and will host one of ten Regional events in 2024 & 2025. Players advance by placing in the top three in each age/gender category at the local level and top two at the sub-regional level. The top finisher in each of the boys and girls divisions at the Regional level will advance to Augusta National and compete in the national championship.

Registration coming soon for the 2025-2026 qualifying season. Registration must be done online at: www.drivechipandputt.com.

FAQ's

Participants compete in all three skills (Drive, Chip and Putt) and hit three shots per skill for a total of nine shots. Points are accumulated per shot at each skill. The overall champion in each division is determined by the participant with the most points accumulated between all three skills. For additional information on eligibility, scoring and more, please visit the Rules and Regulations page.

Please login to your account on www.drivechipandputt.com. Once logged in, the participants associated to your account will be listed within your account dashboard.

Alternatively, you can email info@drivechipandputt.com and they will confirm your participant’s registration status.

A registration must be received no later than 3 p.m. CDT on the date five (5) days prior to the local qualifier. Late registrations will be automatically rejected. Walk-on registrations are not allowed.

There is no entry fee for any qualifying levels of Drive, Chip and Putt.

You may not submit more than one application for any individual to participate in Drive, Chip and Putt. If more than one application is submitted for a participant, all applications will be rejected.

The age bracket is based upon the participant age as of the date of the national finals (Sunday, April 6, 2025). Boys and girls will compete in separate divisions in four age categories: 7-9 years old; 10-11 years old; 12-13 years old; and 14-15 years old.

The path for qualifying is pre-determined based on math, which is done to maintain equal numbers of participants in the subregional and regional stages. Thus, your youth would have to participate in the corresponding pre-assigned subregional and regional events should he/she advance. If you want your youth to attend an alternate subregional qualifier, you would need to select a local qualifying site accordingly before participating. Please email info@drivechipandputt.com if you are unable to make the changes within your account.

The registration process closes 5 days prior to each local qualifier. We will email final start times 4 days prior to the event. The specific event page will have listed a general start time for the event.
