Minnesota PGA Junior Golf conducts the local qualifying for the National Junior PGA Championships.

The Overall Low and Runner-Up for both the boys and girls division at the Minnesota Section level will get a chance to compete at the National Junior PGA Championships in their respective category. The 2024 National Junior PGA Championships will be held at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, MD on July 30 – August 2, 2024.

The 2024 Minnesota Boys Junior PGA Championship was held July 1-2, 2024, at North Oaks Golf Club, located in North Oaks, MN. Thank you to General Manager, Pat Markley, PGA, for hosting the event.  

After the first round of the event, Dylan Kringen shot a round of 4-under par 67 and held a two stroke lead over Jake Birdwell and Ryan Stendahl. 

In the final round, Jake Birdwell shot a smooth 3-under par 68 to take the title and claim the first qualifying spot for the national tournament at 5-under par. Birdwell won by three strokes over Joe Honsa, who climbed the leaderboard after his first round of 2-over par 73 and Stendahl. Honsa finished the round with a 4-under par 67 to position himself into a playoff against Ryan Stendahl for Runner-Up honors and the last spot in the national event. Honsa was able to claim that last spot after beating Stendahl in one playoff hole.

The 2024 Minnesota Girls Junior PGA Championship was held June 17-18, 2024, at Detroit Country Club, located in Detroit Lakes, MN. Thank you to General Manager/Head Golf Professional, Tom Dolby, PGA, for hosting the event.  

Due to unplayable weather conditions, the tournament was cut to 18 holes, which resulted in Jordana Windhorst-Kundsen winning in the USGA regulated scorecard playoff over Amelia Morton, who both shot 2-over par 73s. Windhorst-Knudsen secured the title and first exemption to the National Girls Junior PGA Championship, while Morton took the last qualifying spot into the national event.
