What is the Prep Tour?

The Prep Tour is designed for 7-12 year olds who have more experience in competitive golf. These events are played on 9 and 18-hole executive and regulation courses and are scored as individual stroke play. Caddies are allowed on this tour. Membership in the Prep Tour also allows you to participate in Minny Tour events. The Prep Tour has two age divisions of 7-9 and 10-12. Juniors can play in this program based on their age as of August 15, 2024 and they will be placed in the correct age division based on their age as of that date. Each 9-hole Prep Tour Event has an entry fee of $20.00 and each 18-hole Prep Tour Event has an entry fee of $30.00. The annual membership fee for the Minny/Prep Tour Membership is $75.00.

*NOTE: A junior does have the option to play up on the Junior Tour if they are under the age of 13. They would need to pay the appropriate membership fee and we would need to receive a recommendation letter/email that the junior can play up on the Junior Tour. If a junior does play up on the Junior Tour, they cannot play back down in Minny and Prep Tour events.

PAST PREP TOUR RESULTS

Many players on the Prep Tour also compete in Drive, Chip & Putt Championship and PGA Jr. League Golf.

FAQ's

With the cart option in BlueGolf they only allow you to process 5 events at a time. So once you do the first five events and get them through you can go back in and add more events.

BlueGolf is sensitive when it comes to siblings accounts. Here are some tips to help with frequently asked questions during this process.

  • Log in and out of each member record
    •  If you don’t log out of the member record it may keep you logged into on account when you are trying to get into another account.
    • There is a dropdown menu on the top right hand corner. Click that and choose the log out option in order to log out of an account.
    • To login use the 2024 Member login box located in the top right hand corner of the website and type in the players account you would like to access username and password.
  • Family Picker Instructions – The Family Picker enables a registrant to register multiple children within the same organization or tournament.  See below are the steps that will guide you through the registration process using the Family Picker
  1. Register your first child (ex. Trevin) for an event. When registering this child make sure you are using the same email address for All children.
  2. Register a second child. Use the same email address as the first child.
  3. Note: If you set a password with the first account you will be prompted for your password.
  4. Otherwise you will be emailed a link to continue the player registration for the second child.
  5. Once you click that link it will take you the screenshot below where you will click Add New
    Family Member.
  6. You will then continue to register the second child and complete the registration form for that
    child. (ex. Mary)
  7. If you need to add more than two children following the steps for adding a second child above.
  8. Once you receive the email to continue registration you will see a Family Member Picker Panel where you can add another family member.
  • Same Email
    • BlueGolf is sensitive if you register with the same Main Email for each sibling. If you are trying to access one account it may pull up the other account.
    • In order to avoid this it is easiest to register with different Main Emails for each account.
    • It is easiest to register with the player’s email as the main email for their account if they have one. If the player doesn’t have an email account try to use different email accounts for each child.
    • If you use the players email as the main email enter the parent/guardian’s email in the Parent Email field.
    •  If you have two email accounts you would like the emails to be sent to add the second one to the Second Parent Email field.
    • Every email your son/daughter receives will be cc’d to these email accounts, so you will still receive them.
    • If you are a returning member needing to change the email accounts because they have the same main email you may edit your file to change this. You can also call our office at 763-754-6641, and a staff member can edit your file as well.

Juniors play in the program based on their age as of August 15, 2024 (UPDATE FOR THIS YEAR). The Minny Tour and Prep Tours are for juniors ages 7-12. If you turn 13 years old before August 15, 2024 you WILL NOT be eligible for the Minny/Prep Tours. It has two divisions of ages 7-9 and ages 10-12. If you are 13 years old you would be eligible for the Junior Tour.

We do allow some six year old’s to “play up” with the 7-9 year old’s in the Minny/Prep Tour.  Those six year old’s need to get a recommendation from a PGA Professional or PGA Coach to ensure they can complete nine holes and can join the older kids. You MUST be six years old in order to be considered.

The Minny/Prep Tour membership fee is $75.00. All memberships expire on December 31, 2024. The first 1400 Minny/Prep and Junior Tour members will also receive a membership kit containing the following: Minnesota PGA Junior Golf ‘Sota Series hat and bag tag. Membership kits get mailed out starting in late May/early June.

The 2024 Member Login is located at the top of our website in the righthand corner. You will use your ID/Password to log into your own member account here.

Juniors who wish to cancel out of the ‘Sota Series must do so seven (7) days prior to the date of the first event of the 2024 season, which is Monday, June 10, 2024.  A $20.00 processing fee will be deducted from ALL membership refunds.  Any cancellations after the onset of the 2024 season will forfeit all rights to any refunds. In the case of an emergency, written requests for refunds must be submitted to the Minnesota PGA Junior Golf Office.  To be considered for a refund due to illness or injury, a doctor’s/physician’s note must accompany the written request.  All emergency-related refund requests will be considered on their own merits.  A $20.00 processing fee will still be deducted from all membership refunds even if we have received a doctor’s note.

All 9-hole Minny Tour and Prep Tour events have a per event fee of $20.00 and all 18-hole Prep Tour events have a per event fee of $35.00. We only accept VISA, MasterCard and American Express payment for tournament fees.

Yes, they have two age divisions: 7-9 and 10-12. You will be placed into the correct age division based on your age as of August 15, 2024.

To provide ample playing opportunities to our members, we have devised a Tournament Selection Process, also referred to as a random lottery process, to ensure everyone has a chance to compete in the events they desire. The tournament selection process for Minny/Prep/Junior Tour events for 2024 will run from Wednesday March 20 until the selection deadline of Friday, May 3, 2024 at 4:30 p.m. (CST).  You will be able to make your tournament selections during this time period. This is not the same as registering for events; you are simply selecting and ranking the events you would like to play in. There is a possibility, however, that you could receive all your picks so please keep that in mind. Everyone who selects an event during this time frame has the same chance to receive it as everyone else to select that event, it is a NOT first come, first served basis as long as your picks are made within the selection time frame. NO LATE SELECTIONS WILL BE HONORED.

Beginning on Wednesday, March 20 members can log into their 2024 Member account using their ID and Password and select the events they would like to play in. When doing your online tournament selections, you will be asked to rank your preference for the events that you would like to participate.  There will be a drop-down list of sticker numbers (Minny/Prep Tour Members 1-15).  The stickers are used to designate your preference for the events you would like to play in. Select one sticker number from the drop-down list for each tournament.  ***NOTE*** WHEN USING YOUR PREFERENCE STICKERS, YOU NEED TO START WITH #1 FOR THE EVENT YOU WOULD LIKE TO PLAY IN MOST. Then, you will use #2 for your second desired event, and so on until you have assigned a preference sticker number to each tournament you would like to participate in. DO NOT SKIP PREFERENCE STICKER NUMBERS. If a number is skipped, you may miss out on getting tournaments. The number of events you are selecting should be the highest preference sticker you use.

We will begin emailing out confirmations for the tournaments that you received through the tournament selection process the week of May 13. You will receive one email for each Minny/Prep Tour event that you are confirmed into playing for the 2024 season. At this time your credit card will ONLY be charged for the events that you have received through the tournament selection process.

Juniors that are 2024 Minny/Prep Tour Members will be able to register for Minny Tour and Prep Tour events that still have openings starting on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. (CST).
